Poppets & Pets: A GOTY Infographic

Perhaps for the first time anywhere, all the GOTY poppets and their major pets and animals.

New year, new resolution--I am organizing my AG collection using as many KonMari principles as possible.

I already know all my poppets themselves "spark joy" but the entire hoard of accessories does not necessarily spark joy for me-- but how to reduce? After literally a year pondering my AG "komono" category I have sparked upon the idea to let my poppet characters decide if they want to claim an item or not. If an item is not claimed or assigned to a specific poppet it will go in the sell or donate pile. I am sure a few items will stay just because I love it and not because it will be assigned to a specific poppet.

First up is gathering the pets to see who will claim them! The infographic chart above will help me connect my GOTY pets to the GOTY characters. Note I do not own all of the GOTY dolls!

Next up I will need to make a BeForever infographic with poppets and pets. However, after that I still have many TM pets and animals that will be looking to be officially claimed by my core set of dolls.

GOTY Gabriela and "Barbie" Packaging

More evidence of the "Barbie" style packaging that will be in full force with Gabriela's debut on January 1st.

Gabriela's Practice Outfit looks to be packaged not in a closed compact box but in a full view "window pane" style box reminiscent of how Barbie doll clothes are packaged and sold. Thank you, Hello Savings for the early look!

AG has been introducing "Barbie" style packaging over the past year or so, but it was mostly relegated to items sold through Costco, such as the repackaging of Samantha and her two outfits.

But we also saw hints of this new direction in GOTY 2016 Lea Clark's collection with how her Three-Toed Sloth, Sea Turtle, and Margay Cat were packaged.

While the Lea animals were packaged rather cutely, it is almost impossible to remove some of the her pets and still save the box for future storage. For other items undergoing the Barbie-packaging like the Costco Samantha collection of doll +two outfits, the new packaging is not easily preserved at all and all but impractical to reuse.

Groundhog Day News! Spring Rumors and Releases

Happy Groundhog Day! The critter has officially predicted spring is on the way without delay!

Lea's Three-Toed Sloth was the closest I had to a murmeltier (aka groundhog) to share all the following happy news! Groundhog Day was one of my favorite holidays as a young child--no fuss, just fun songs and crafts about a magical critter who could predict the coming of spring. So how fitting to talk today about all the coming arrivals at American Girl.

Rumored for February 11th at American Girl is the spring release. Social media has reported Truly Me additions of an Ice Cream Stand and Sprinkles Outfit and other summer/sporting outfits. While we will be soon saying an official goodbye to the Bitty Twins, the Bitty Baby line will be getting several spring items during this release. Stay tuned to Poppets & Posies for an AGPSF in-store report!

Looking further ahead, coming March 1st will be Lea Clark's third book, Lea and Camila.

Rumored for sometime this late-spring or early summer will be a NEW line of 16" dolls by American Girl called Wellie-Wishers. Small leaks has led many to believe that Wellie-Wishers will be similar in size (tall and slender) to an earlier line of dolls from AG called Hopscotch Hill. Will this be the doll line in which we finally see the rumored "little brother" doll?

However, what we will not be seeing in the spring release are any BeForever "Limited Edition" outfits and we will have to wait until summer for both Melody and any more Lea Clark outfits or accessories.

And finally, to follow up on an earlier blog post, I received my big Lea purchase--but it is still sitting packed inside of the shipping box. The unboxing will surely be soon! I would have loved to have opened it last month but life and the winter flu temporarily derailed my plans. What is now needed is little bit of Lea sunshine!

One of the anticipated arrivals at American Girl along with Lea Clark on January 1st is a cute and cuddly Baby Sloth! Who doesn’t love a baby sloth? Poppets & Posies wants to celebrate by giving away one sweet and cuddly Baby Sloth from Lea Clark's upcoming collection.

While some details are still forthcoming, it seems Lea will be involved with animal rescue and the Baby Sloth will be one of three animals that will play an important role in her story.
