More Upcoming Winter Fun!?

So much fun--but for the Wellies or the TMs?

The gloves and headband definitely seem TM sized, but scale of the sled is a bit short and narrow. But perhaps it is the snow version of the compact boogie board.

Winter is my favorite season and all the sneak peeks seem to be feature a lot of classics--here again with snowflakes and of course the pop of Christmas reds.

Truly Me: A Summertime Splash of Color?

Something new around the corner for the rumored summer release on June 22nd?

This outfit was also spied on AG's Facebook page on Z's classroom 360 degree scene.

It does look like from the many rumors circulating that the summer release will have quite a Truly Me splash--new TM dolls, new TM meet outfit, and of course new TM outfits as well.

Wow! Winter Holiday 2017

And now for something completely different!

I need this! I see the AG star at the neck and it is listed as AG--but I have no idea if it for the TM line, the WW line, or just a cute stuffed holiday themed animal. It is listed as 25 cm tall (approximately 10 in) so it is a bit small for the TM line but probably just right for WW.

AG might have missed on a few of the recent pets in terms of wonky faces (Gabriela's cat Maya and even Melody's dog Bo), but this reindeer is super cute.

And more holiday fun below!

Sequins! I love sequins.

This outfit seems like standard TM Holiday Dress fare, but I also think Nashville star Tenney would look adorable in this.

ETA: An eagle eye spied that the holiday dress is made of a mishmash of materials from past released dresses and outfits--so is this a random prototype or perhaps another PWP for the holiday season?

Are you ready for Holidays 2017!? I can't wait!

Expected release for these items would be in the September/October time frame. Both are a big yes from me--which is exciting since in 2016 I bought zero of AG's TM Holiday Dresses.

TM Spring Flowers Monet Dress

A lovely and new look for this spring?

This dress may be part of the spring Truly Me line up, noting the clear oval vanity tag on the lower hem.

The impressionistic flower design seems high concept compared to many TM designs and in that respect it is quite visually interesting. Additionally, some have complained AG overuses pinks and purples and should explore other hues, especially green, so this may be welcomed by some fans.

My one complaint is that it appears this dress is made of the plasticy "parachute" materials which is my least favorite material as it often wrinkly and one irons at their own risk since it melts even at low temperatures!

A matching headband and green sandals complete the outfit.

Somewhat dull sandals--I would have loved a more fabric-strapped sandal to further the light and spring feel. However, these green sandals will finish the outfit well if a bit pedestrianly.

Overall, I am enjoying the surprising design aesthetic of this dress and am eager to see it modeled on some poppets.

Sneak Peek Bonanza!

The future is bright and bold--with possible items for GOTY 2017 Gabriella, Contemporary Character Tenney Grant, perhaps for the rumored limited edition Z-Crew doll, Maryellen and more.

The Knit Purple Dress could be for Gabriella, the TM line, or even a PWP. No way to tell at the moment!

The sequins are strong with the Black Sequin Shift Dress--my money is on Gabriella. But such a classic "little black dress"could work for Tenney or even TM line.

The Music-Themed Dress seems like it is destined for the TM line.

Another more casual piece--the Green Jacket seems like a TM mix-and-match piece.

The Denim Shirt with lace detail pocket seems very Tenney, but it also has a Z-Crew vibe in my eyes.

Lace Shorts seem to be perfect for country themed Tenney!

Brown Shoes are fairly ho-hum but the velvet laces do spruce them up a bit. I have no idea who these might be for.

This Paisley robe has the internet buzzing--with speculations as far afield as the rumored BeForever WWII era "Pearl Harbor" doll Nanea Mitchell. I think this robe may be for a the Z-Crew girl.

Oh, Maryellen! This seems tailored for our 1950s girl from Florida--don't you?

The swimsuit/romper will likely be paired with this Flamingo Purse.

And another kitty for some poppet. Rumors pair this fuzzy pet with Gabriella.

Whew! I can't keep up!

Dancing in the New Year

Classic pink. I love it. I suspect a spring leap for this Truly Me ensemble.

It looks like a new all-in-one ballet set rather than the current mix-n-match double set for ballet (Pretty Plie Ballet Outfit and Pretty Pink Tutu Set). I think I would rather have one nice dance ensemble rather than need to buy two. The new leotard with attached tulle skirt shows the "American Girl" vanity tag.

The silver material of the wrap and leggings looks almost identical to the material used in Isabelle's leggings. No complaints here, I would love to use this new outfit as an expansion of Isabelle's collection, which is still one of my favorites.

Looks like if you like the current ballet offerings they may be on their way out. So in with the new?

Holiday 2016 Preview: Cranberry Velvet Dress

Could this cranberry dress be one of the holiday hits this coming winter?

The sleeveless dress appears to be constructed of a faux "burnout velvet" fabric and features a slim ribbon with faux rhinestone gems at the waistline.  The bodice and skirt is lined but the yolk and shoulders appear to left unlined to highlight the sheer pattern of the burnout velvet design. The dress has a metal American Girl vanity tag at the hem.

The outfit will likely be accompanied by these shiny faux black patent leather shoes that feature a scalloped edge and coordinating faux rhinestone gems.

The ensemble may include a coordinating faux patent leather purse on a metal chain and a cranberry headband, both with matching faux rhinestone gems.

This is my favorite peek at a possible holiday dress. Looks like a busy holiday release is in the works!

New Birthday Outfit for Summer 2016?

Could this be the new Birthday Outfit for 2016? The outfit is showing up in American Girl adverts for the Signature Studios (Chicago, New York, Los Angles) but not yet in the stores.

I love it. The flirty sandals, the cotton candy pink skirt with shiny polka dots, the bling at the waistband, and the summer tank top. And who doesn't absolutely need a new tiara? And a satiny birthday sash? Over the top birthday girl fun!

I neeeeeeeed this outfit. Even if it means having to beg a friend or internet-friend to pick it up for me. We will need to keep an eye out for this birthday fun! Has anyone local to a Signature Studio seen this offered in their stores?

"Meet" Truly Me: Unboxing Truly Me 21

Last Thursday I enjoyed the Truly Me launch at AGPSF, though I did not bring home any of the beautiful new dolls (TM #62, #63, #64 and revised #54). However, a few days later I returned to AGPSF and brought home a doll that I believe has been flying under the radar for many doll collectors.

Welcome home, Truly Me 21!

The new Truly Me packaging is a pretty and soothing lavender (my absolute favorite color--my bridesmaids wore this color!) with terrific doodle patterns on the front and sides of the box.

It should be noted that the new TM boxes are excessively difficult to pry open as the fit between the top piece and bottom is very snug. The sales assistant at the store was very helpful, but she struggled mightily to open up just two boxes for me to compare two dolls. I joked AG needs to invent a box-shoehorn for those extra snug boxes.

All of the Truly Me doll boxes, GOTY Grace doll boxes, and nearly all of the BeForever doll boxes now feature a round placard on the front of the box with the doll's image on it. I presume as BeForever doll stock turns over that the silhouette-and-name design that was part of the BeForever launch will be replaced with the above configuration. The image makes for quicker doll and outfit identification, but the previous box design with the silhouettes was truly lovely and I miss it already.

The TM dolls come with a boxed set of activity cards. The activity box is packed/set in a plastic sleeve which slips over the bottom of the doll box (similar to the plastic sleeve that holds the Meet books), however I was surprised and a little dismayed that the plastic sleeve was secured to the cardboard doll box with clear packaging tape. Once I carefully stripped off the tape (if the tape is pulled with a very slow and patient hand it can be removed without any major damage to the doll box itself) the reason for the tape became obvious--the activity set is heavy!

Cute ideas on activities cards. I think it adds some value to the TM doll experience, especially for the 8-and-under crowd, but I will need to do a fuller review later. Super darling outfit pictured on the above card--a sneak peak at a fall outfit?

Finally, our first close view of TM 21. She was originally introduced in 2001 and features curly strawberry blonde hair with pin curls on either side of her face. Her eyes are hazel and she is one of the few dolls remaining in the TM line up with line eyebrows.

The new meet dress, which is currently available for separate purchase as the Lilac Dress, is a light raspberry cotton with silver mesh trim with sequins and with a silver threaded woven sash.

Oh, how I love examining a new doll in the box. Pristine and full of promise! The teal shoes from the meet outfit have glittery silver accents.

TM 21 out of box! I adore her pigtails right out of the box.

The back of her wig has short hairs to cover the wig cap.

Pin curls! It will be interesting to work with the pin curls to keep them neat and springy.

Another close up of her pin curls.

The bottom left of her dress has a metal American Girl tag sewn onto it, just like the dresses for girls.

Close up of the teal meet shoes. These slipped on and off like butter--clearly AG has been listening to customer complaints and requests about shoe fit. I do wonder what could be lost if AG only produces buttery slip-on shoes, though, since I love some of the boots of recent years that were a real challenge to get on, such as Saige's boots. So I hope AG doesn't sacrifice all smart and fashionable shoes and boots on the altar of butter.

Madly in love with this beauty. I'm glad I noticed her even in spite of (or perhaps because of!) a bevy of new and sparkly dolls.

It is difficult to predict when a doll from the modern line will be retired as we are not given as much advance notice as with the historical dolls. Considering that TM 21 is one of the older dolls in the modern line and she was not revised to the newer eyebrow style last fall, it does at have me pause to wonder if she may be one of the next dolls quietly retired sometime in the next calendar year.
